SIMPLE PLAN FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES LIST OF DONATIONS FOR 2016, TOTALING $180 000
15 décembre 2016
Like every year since its inception, the Simple Plan Foundation has announced its 2016 donations for an amount totalling $ 180 000, shared between twenty charitable organizations who devote their efforts to helping young people in need or dealing with a serious illness. Among the 20 recipients, a strong emphasis has been placed on financing musical therapy programs in hospitals (Sainte-Justine, Montreal Children’s and Sick Kids in Toronto, etc.) and health organizations (The Lighthouse, Children and Families, the Fondation du Docteur Julien, etc.), as well as addressing teenage-specific issues that young people struggle with, like addiction, depression and self-esteem problems (The Portage Foundation, Les Auberges du cœur, the Mental Illness Foundation, GRIS, etc.).
To this day, the Foundation has donated close two million dollars ($ 2M) to various charitable groups helping youth in need.
The band would like to thank all their fans and Foundation supporters who have made this possible, and hope to see such amazing support continued in the future.
Following the release of their most recent album « Taking One For The Team » and the launch of their latest single & video « Perfectly perfect », the members of Simple Plan are presently on tour in South America where they will be performing in Brazil, Argentina, Chili, Paraguay & Peru. As it is the case with all of their concert dates, $1 from every ticket sold goes directly to the Foundation. Given their very busy touring schedule this year, the band has decided to push back their annual fundraising event to 2017, more details should be forthcoming shortly.

SIMPLE PLAN LENDS THEIR SUPPORT TO THE VICTIMS OF THE FORT MCMURRAY FIRES
13 mai 2016
Following the news of the wildfires which caused mass devastation in Fort McMurray, Alberta, the members of Simple Plan along with the Simple Plan Foundation volunteers were shocked and saddened by the plight of evacuees. Having played a concert there just a few years ago, the band fondly remembers the warm reception they received from the fans and entire community.
The Simple Plan Foundation will donate $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross in order to do its small part in helping those affected by this terrible tragedy and to help rebuild these proud communities.
Simple Plan would like to encourage all of their fans as well as all those touched by these events to join the growing movement of support in this country and to donate generously. To make a donation, please visit www.redcross.ca.
Our thoughts are with all those affected and we sincerely hope the community can quickly get back to some sense of normality. Courage.

PRECEEDED BY DONATIONS OF $300 000, THE SIMPLE PLAN & MARIE-MAI BENEFIT CONCERT WAS A SUCCESS
28 novembre 2014
A very special benefit event to profit young people
Simple Plan fans and supporters of the Simple Plan Foundation were once again out in full force to show their support this year, packing the Corona Theater in Montreal on November 24th for the Simple Plan and Friends benefit concert; it was a chance to see their favorite band perform alongside Marie-Mai in a unique intimate setting, in the hopes of raising funds & awareness for various youth oriented causes. The event was brilliantly hosted by Anne-Marie Withenshaw who guided the spirited proceedings with expertise.
Fans got a chance to meet with their idols prior to the concert, take photos & get autographs from the artists, while also having the chance to participate in an auction for various memorabilia items. The biggest surprise of the evening came during Simple Plan’s set when the band premiered a brand new song, Boom, which will be included on the band’s upcoming album to be launched at the end of springtime.
We are very proud to announce that the Fondation has largely surpassed it’s goal. Very happy, but mostly very grateful for all of those who contributed in their own way to thisThis successful benefit event: partners, donators, sponsors, collaborators and volunteers, without whom none of this would have been possible. Many thanks to all those present who, with their active participation & enthusiasm, helped make this year’s event a complete success.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT !

A record year for donations, over $300 000
As is the case before every benefit event, the Simple Plan Foundation announced this year’s recipients, a list of around 25 organisations dedicated to working with & helping young people, for a total of $300 000. To this day this is the largest amount of annual donations since the Foundation began operating, and brings the amount of total donations to $1.5 M.
Of course, the foundation favors the causes that correspond best to its objectives. But, giving the increasing amount of new requests, difficult choices must be made. On the one hand, the foundation wishes to continue its implication in a certain number of projects, long enough to make possible their durability ; on the other hand, it is also important to allow new charities to receive a positive answer and to have the opportunity to get a support. This year, 26 charities received a donation, among them 7 were new requests.

SIMPLE PLAN FOUNDATION HELPS FIGHT AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA
1 octobre 2014
For the fifth time in a row, the annual GRIS ceremony took place in Montreal and Jeff Stinco was there as a representative of Simple Plan to hand over this year’s GRIS-Simple Plan Foundation award, which is being given to schools in Canada, whose students or faculty members actively take an initiative to help fight against homophobia in the school environment.
This year’s award went to the Mountainview elementary school, which organised a Week against homophobia, throughout which the students had the opportunity to attend various workshops which helped them learn more about equality and tolerance. Along with the award, the school also received a $2000 grant.
